‘Twilight’: Robert Pattinson Burnt Out on Edward Cullen

The Twilight Saga has one more go on the big screen with Breaking Dawn Part II, and Robert Pattinson is ready to leave Edward Cullen behind. The actor spoke about the role and series when he was currently out promoting another one of his upcoming releases, Cosmopolis. Pattinson does seem to be quite talkative lately as he promotes this release.

The actor did not diss Twilight or the success the role has given him, but he is ready to move on to other characters and projects. He is ready to leave teen films behind and do more adult roles. He said the following, according to Digital Spy:

“Playing the same part for a while, you just run out of ideas. You feel kind of useless, you don’t know what to do anymore. I’m not trying to get away from it. You’re screwing yourself, you’re saying you think your work is s**t if you try and get away from it, and I never thought it was [s**t]. But I kind of got to the end of my inspiration. You get to the point where you’re like, ‘I don’t want to do a film for a teen audience anymore.’”

Pattinson has definitely moved on to more adult characters with roles in Bel Ami and Cosmopolis. Edward Cullen will always be remembered as the role that launched his career, but every character does have its shelf life—unless you are in the world of comics.

What do you think? Is Robert Pattinson always going to be remembered as Edward Cullen?
