Melissa Rosenberg just signed on to write the screenplay for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Breaking Dawn will be adapted into a movie; that is a fact. However speculation is growing that the story will be split into two movies. The Twilight saga author, Stephanie Meyer, has stated on her website that it is hard for her to imagine the book being fit into a 90 minute movie. She’s right. There is just too much going on…you got the complexity of vampire/human sex, Bella’s pregnancy with a half vampire baby, Bella becoming a vampire and the battle with the Volturi family. According to several reports, it’s beginning to look like Summit is beginning to agree with her too. The Twilight saga is their meal ticket and I’m sure they would love to make more money from it.
However, before the movie could officially become several things must happen. The biggest deal breaker in this situation is the fact that Robert Pattison, Kristen Stewart and the rest of the gang are only signed on to do four movies. If a fifth one is to be made, Summit must get everyone to sign on for another movie and it will cost them. With the success of Twilight and New Moon, the actors could be commanding a large salary.
Either way Twilight Saga: Eclipse is coming out on June 30th, 2010. Breaking Dawn should then come out sometime in 2011 and if it gets made into two then the second movie will probably be out in 2012.
Do you think Breaking Dawn should be made into two movies? As much as I would love to have another Twilight movie, I don’t know if I’d want to wait any longer than I have to.
