Twisted Sister rocker Dee Snider will join the Broadway production of “Rock of Ages.”  Dee Snider is well known for his 70’s and 80’s rockstar gig with the metal band Twisted Sister, and he’s had his own recent reality show.  Now he’ll get to showcase his talents on the Broadway stage.

According to Chicago Tribune, Dee Snider will join the cast of “Rock of Ages” starting October 11th.  He’ll continue with the show for an 11-week run, playing the part of Dennis.  In the show, the story is of an aspiring rock singer who tries to make it big on the Sunset Strip back in the 80’s.  Dee Snider’s character “Dennis” owns the Bourbon Room in the show.  Dennis was played by Adam Dannheisser back in the original production.

In addition to being part of the show, Dee Snider’s going to host an after show called “Rock Senate Hearings.”  He’ll be conducting interview pieces with various guests or cast members from the play.  The post-show will begin October 19th.

Seems like more and more celebrities are looking to get into stage acting.  We’ve seen other singers take their turns on Broadway including Usher in “Chicago” and even Billi Jo of Green Day getting into his own “American Idiot” show.  Dee Snider seems like he’s got the personality and likely the pipes to pull off a rock star performance in the show.  Many MTV fans (from the days they had videos) will recall his crazy “We’re Not Gonna Take It” video.  So get ready for him to rock “Rock of Ages” starting in under two weeks.

Do you think Dee Snider will be for a good draw to the “Rock of Ages” show?
