Former lightweight champion B.J. Penn’s upset title loss to Frank Edgar isn’t the only big news to come out of UFC 112 from Afghanistan.  In an article on mmafighter.com, reports are circulating that UFC President Dana White is extremely put out by Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

Silva, 34 with a 26-4 lifetime MMA record, faced Demian Maia in a clash of Brazilian jiu jitsu artists.  Silva clearly outclassed Maia and spent 25 minutes tauting and mocking Maia, never going for a knockout win but taking an easy unanimous decision over his foe.

Silva apologized after the bout for his actions, claiming they were spurred by Maia’s pre-match trash talk that his jiu jitsu skills were superior to those of Silva.  That apparently wasn’t good enough for White.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been more embarrassed in the 10 years of being in this business,” White said. “It was the most horrible thing I have ever seen.”

White continued, “It’s the first time that I’ve ever walked out of the main event and given the belt to the guy’s manager and told him to put it on him.”

The Silva bout was the main event of the card.  Many fans left the building booing the display put on by Silva.
