Just call it ‘Denial Weekend’! In an unbelievable segment on ‘Meet the Press‘, Obama Campaign senior adviser David Axelrod had the nerve to say that there has been “no inconsistency” from the White House on the September 11th attacks and murders in Benghazi! To top it off, he had the gall to suggest that “the Republicans” are making it an issue. With the election looming so close, perhaps lying to the American people isn’t a smart move. But does it even matter to Obama’s supporters?
There is no question that the White House was very well aware of what was going down in Libya. Axelrod also claimed that they have shared all the information “in real time” with the American people. Utter nonsense, the White House knew within 24 hours of the attack that it had nothing to do with a video they were blaming, yet they continued to blame the anti-Islam movie trailer for days afterwards. Obviously, Axelrod and the Obama Campaign can just lie without any concern of consequences. They’ve been lying to the American people for so long they just assume if they repeat the lie long enough, it will go away.
True to that idea, a video of Obama supporters being asked about the Benghazi attacks was recently released that should shock the American public. Revealing Politics went to a Obama event at Ohio University and questioned supporters about the attacks. According to the vlogger, most of the students didn’t even know about the attack. One said they thought “the Republicans did it”! With all the denials, including the presidents absurd response at the last debate, is it any wonder? Given the lack of reaction to their lies in the past, they fear nothing. Even in the face of a blatant lie, like the Benghazi attack, his supporters still blindly support and defend this president.
The Benghazi denial wasn’t the only one coming out of the White House this weekend. The New York Times reported that the U.S. has agreed to bilateral talks with Iran over its nuclear program behind Israel’s back. Of course the White House denied it! National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said “It’s not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections.” With this administration it wouldn’t be surprising to find out they were playing word games. He went on to say that President Obama was committed to making sure Iran didn’t get a nuke and that we will do whatever we have to do. Great work so far, right? Just keep talking and the lie goes away.
