Update: Workers Found Alive off Oil Rig in the Gulf of Mexico / Workers Still Missing

Update: Earlier reports that the 11 missing men had been found was incorrect. Sadly, they are still missing. 

All 11 men who were reported missing after an explosion off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico have been found the Coast Guard says.  Some of the men were on life boats and others were hanging onto the rig. 

The rig is leaning at 70 degrees.  15 men were evacuated, 12 were reported missing, but it turns out only 11 were missing and all have been accounted for.  Seven men are in critical condition and four of the seven have been flown to area hospitals.

The rig are managed by Transocean and the company is based in Houston, Texas. The rig exploded and is worth in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Coast Guard reports say there was a giant fireball and the rig is sinking and still burning.  There are no reports of death at this writing. The cause of the explosion and fire is unknown and under investigation.
