US Open Scores: Day Two Has Top Seeds on Court

The day two US Open scores and results come from some big names. Within the US Open scores and results from Tuesday (Aug. 30) will be matches with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and David Ferrer in the men’s brackets. Some of the women’s bracket matches will have Carolina Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka, and Li Na taking to the court.

The daily results will be coming in all through Tuesday, and action has already begun at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. In early coverage of the matches, the fourth seeded Azarenka is up 4-0 on Johanna Larsson in the first set. No. 26 Flavia Pennetta is up 6-1, 0-1 on Aravane Rezai on another court, and American Lauren Davis leads Angelique Kerber 4-3 mid-way through her first set.

In the men’s bracket, there are two matches taking place early with ranked players on the court. No. 5 seeded David Ferrer was struggling against Igor Andreev in their first set, trailing 2-5 early in the match. No. 11 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is up 4-3 on Yen-Hsun Lu in their first set.

Live coverage of all the 2011 US Open matches on Tuesday will begin on ESPN3 beginning at 1 pm ET, and should allow fans to really get involved in the tournament this year. There are bound to be a number of upsets along the way, and it’s possible that the No. 5 seed in the men’s bracket could be one of them on the day two.
