On tonight’s exciting episode of the USA network espionage drama Covert Affairs, Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) and newbie tech operative Reva Kline (Jaime Alexander) are captured in Belarus while planting surveillance cameras at the country’s border.
Joan (Kari Matchett) sends in Jai (Sendhil Ramamurthy) to rescue Annie and Reva. And Jai does rescue the women, but he seems to drag his feet along the way. Sendhil Ramamurthy is a good actor, but Jai’s motives are spurious at best.
Reva sprains her ankle while trying to separate from Annie. She’s pretty annoying and thinks she knows everything.
Meanwhile, back at home, Danielle (Anne Dudek) finds her sister’s passport and Auggie (Christopher Gorham) has to call in a favor to keep Annie’s cover intact.
This episode was good, but it would have been better if it had been Annie and Auggie on the mission instead of Annie and Reva. Upon her return, Annie asked Auggie if he was worried about her. Of course, he lied through his teeth and told her he wasn’t. No matter how little time they have on-screen together, Annie and Auggie are entertaining in every episode.
This episode of Covert Affairs didn’t feature Arthur (Peter Gallagher) at all, but he will no doubt be in future episodes, so that was okay.
Tune in next Tuesday at 10pm/9c, when Auggie goes on a dangerous renegade solo mission. This episode will be interesting because fans will find out more about how Auggie lost his sight.
