Ushnoye – Russian Mutton Stew

8 oz Mutton
1 ea Onion chopped
2 ea Carrots sliced
1 ea Turnip diced
1 ea Swede (rutabaga)
3 tb butter
2 tb flour
5 ea cloves garlic
2 c  Water
Pepper & salt to taste

Cube mutton 1/2″, sprinkle with salt & pepper then roast.
Next place mutton, sliced carrots, onion, turnip & swede in a clay pot, salt, water then cover with lid & cook until done.
Add garlic.
Pour off a portion of broth, dilute browned flour with this broth then pour sauce into clay pot.
