Pixar brings family entertainment with the story of a princess who decides to stand up for what she believes in. Brave fans will notice that like The Hunger Games heroine, Katniss, Princess Merida’ preferred weapon is the bow and arrow. Can the redheaded crusader lift her kingdom’s curse? The answer comes next month on June 22nd.

Does anyone believe America’s 16th president fought more than slavery? According to Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, he also fought to keep bloodsucking vampires from taking over the country. While it’s a bit far out there, fans are already lining up for this movie which also begins June 22nd.

Michelle Williams returns to the big screen with Seth Rogen and Luke Kirby in Take This Waltz. It’s the story of man who moves next door to a married couple only to discover his attraction for the wife. Will romance or trouble be in the air? Perhaps a bit of both. The film premieres June 29th.

Male eye candy fills the next summer film. Magic Mike stars Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey, Adam Rodriquez and Matt Bomer. It’s all about male strippers. That means it’s woman’s night out on June 29th.

The world’s favorite prehistoric animals make a comeback in July with Ice Age 4: Continental Drift. Once again, the little band of friends, including Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth and Scrat get into trouble as the earth keeps making weather changes. Will they survive this time? Find out on July 13th.

The late Whitney Houston was hoping for a movie comeback along side Jordin Sparks in Sparkle. Sadly, she didn’t live long enough to see if her fame would rekindle. No doubt Houston fans will flock to support their fallen diva in this Motown-themed film. Here’s hoping her light shines brighter than ever for one last time beginning August 17th.

Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman join Dane DeHann for Lawless. The film is about the making of moonshine and the characters behind it. While it’s not family fare, it’s sure to find its own audience when it debuts August 31st.

While these summer films might not get the hype of The Avengers, offer the action of The Amazing Spider-Man or the take a bite like Dark Shadows, they’ll still offer a cool repass on a hot summer’s day. Happy movie going!
