Petite host of ‘Live! with Regis & Kelly’ Kelly Ripa recently poked fun at herself working out.  Ripa discussed her workouts with recent guest co-host Bryant Gumbel on the air saying she “looks like Peter Pan when working out.”

According to Huffington Post, Ripa talked about her workouts at SoulCycle which is a New York spinning studio.  Apparently Ripa and many other celebs get their spin on there to burn calories and stay looking great.  Kelly noted that she loves the “group mentality” rather than working out alone, because “everybody pulls together, and there’s something sexy” about the unified group workout.  Speaking of sexy, Gumbel brought up that people must stare at the attractive and well-known soap and daytime TV star, but Kelly said it’s not quite that way.

Ripa told Gumbel:

“No, never! Youve never seen me work out. I look like Peter Pan,” she said. “The makeup comes off, the hair goes into a bun and the padded bra comes off, and Peter Pan is floating next to you on a bike. I bet you I could spin next to you and you would not know it was me.”

Ripa’s one of the most beautiful hosts on television right now, so it’s hard to believe she’d look like a male children’s story character.  Then again actress Sandy Duncan once portrayed Peter Pan quite well on stage.  Maybe Kelly Ripa will don a Peter Pan Halloween costume this year on the show.

So what do you think, would you recognize Kelly Ripa if she was in her Peter Pan workout mode near you?  Do you prefer working out alone or with others?
