The Warwick Mall in Rhode Island has been closed due to severe flooding for the last couple of days, but the mall owner did get inside this morning to survey some of the damage. He says that the water has receded substantially, but the parking lot remains under water. There is no dollar figure of damage. Nor is there a time table as to when business owners will be allowed back in to look at damage. It remains unclear how long it will take to get the mall back open.
A security guard did have to be rescued from the mall because of the rising waters. No one at the mall was injured. The mall was flooded when the Pawtuxet River flooded its banks due to heavy rains this week in Rhode Island.
