Was Davy Jones of The Monkees smoking pot prior to his death in February? His toxicology report came back saying he had cannabinoids in his system. He tested negative for all other kinds of drugs, however.
According to a report from TMZ, the presence of cannabinoids indicates the late singer was using some ‘weed-type’ of drug that could include marijuana at the time of his death. The cannabinoids had nothing whatsoever to do with his death.
The same report that leaves people wondering whether or not Jones smoked pot confirmed what the initial medical report stated. He died of a heart attack, likely caused from a significant build up in his arteries. The Monkees singer had been riding horses at a ranch in Florida when he was stricken. He was just 66 years old.
Does this surprise you that Davy Jones may have been a pot smoker? A product of the 1960s and early 1970s, that was very typical of musicians from that era. Many of them–quite likely Jones included–never gave up the habit.
