Angelina jolieMelissa deBin-Parish and Billy Bob Thornton were married from 1978 to 1980, and she had the following to say about his marriage to Angelina–as well as its demise.

“I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he did not want to be around children back then,” Melissa said. “Look at the timeline: she adopted Maddox and then, [Billy] was gone.”

Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton actually adopted Maddox–who is now 10–from Cambodia together. She later fought him for custody and won sole custody of the child. Brad Pitt adopted Maddox as his own once he and Angelina’s relationship indicated permanency.

Billy Bob and Angelina were a rather strange pair don’t you think? The glamorous woman and the–well, exactly how would you describe Billy Bob Thornton? He is a very gifted actor, but aside from that he’s a pretty strange dude himself.

Shortly after their divorce, Angelina had the following to say about Billy Bob in an interview with Barbara Walters.

“I thought he was amazing. And, now I just feel like I don’t know him… We’re not friends,” she said.

She seems to have had a change of heart in recent months, however, as she is penning the foreword to Thornton’s upcoming book.

Do you think Billy Bob’s other ex-wife is on the money when she says their marriage ended because of Angelina’s yearning for a family? Or was that just part of the problem?
