What if the hottest guy in the world was hiding a nameless evil, and all he wanted was you? Hunted Book Review
Hunted – House of Night Book 5 – PC Cast & Kristin Cast
What if the hottest guy in the world was hiding a nameless evil, and all he wanted was you?
At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey and her gang must discover a way to deal with an unexpected danger that might bring them all down. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, who looks gorgeous and has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading power, but what if it shows Zoey truths she can’t face?
Meanwhile, the red fledglings have cleaned up well, but are they really as friendly as they seem? On the boyfriend front, Zoey has a chance to fix things with super-hot ex-, Erik, but she can’t stop thinking about Stark, the archer who died in her arms, and she is driven to save him from Neferet’s sinister influence. Will anyone believe the power evil has to hide among us?
Jessica’s Review – This series has become one of my favorites. The Cast’s are a great writing team who seem to have fun working together. (Lucky for them since they are family too!) I reviewed book 4, Untamed, previously and stated it was my favorite of the series so far, and while that still holds true, this one had much more action within it and as an added plus (and a slight spoiler, but c’mon, you know this was coming…) Stark is back, kinda.
The wonderful writing makes it easy to cheer for Zoey and her friends, including the red fledglings. It makes it easy to want Neferet to get smacked around and put in her place. I can see this making a great tv show, more so than Vampire Diaries, since there are so many characters to like.
It’s one of the books you just want to keep reading to see what’s going to happen next, so thankfully there are at least two more books after this since everything is not nicely wrapped up at the end of the book. My only issue with the series is the editing. Ugh, so many mistakes drive me crazy. (At one point it’s explained to Aphrodite that something is in Aphrodite’s room, they plugged the wrong name into that bit.) Looking over the editing mishaps, the book is more than worth reading and then rushing out for Tempted, the next in the series.
Kole’s 2nd Opinion – This book from The House of Night series is not my favorite. It’s good, but there seems to be less emotion and internal conflict from Zoey. If you like the series, then I would of course continue reading this one as the story is great. I also noticed the editing mistakes.
