Country singer Taylor Swift may have suffered a recent nude topless photo scandal, but is the beneficiary of positive news as well. The country singer is one of the CMA nominees for 2011, appropriately for songs like “Mean.”
The Taylor Swift photo scandal will be an afterthought as the singer continues her successful career in country and pop muisc. She’ll be up for multiple awards at this year’s CMA’s. Swift is nominated for Music Video of the Year for the song “Mean.” Also she’s up for Entertainer of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year. That could make for a big year for Swift at the 2011 CMA Awards show.
Website Boston.com notes that “Swift turned a negative into a postive” which ultimately got her a special nomination for song of the year, her first time ever. The reason the award is so special is because it’s given out to the songwriter rather than the artist. For Taylor Swift’s sake she is both. The head of Swift’s label, Big Machine Records, recently commented:
“I don’t think she gets near the props she deserves for her songwriting. I’ve been in the business with Taylor for almost seven years now and her songs were great when I met her at 14.”
The other great thing about Taylor Swift is she brushes off the negativity and moves forward. She was recently the target of a website’s nude photo scandal in a topless picture she says is not her. Swift threatened legal action against the “Mean” website who has continued to press on with insulting articles. Taylor Swift appears to be more than just a singer and songwriter, but also a role model for how to handle adversity and keep on with success. Best of luck to Miss Swift at this year’s awards show!
