Whitney Houston’s cause of death has been made official as the coroner’s office has released the autopsy and toxicology results. As previously reported, the singer died of accidental drowning and there were drugs found in her system. The full report shows a few more details that were previously unreleased.
For starters, a detective found a “small spoon with a white crystal like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper. Located in the top drawer were remnants of a white powdery substance and a portable mirror on a base” (Celebuzz). It was also reported that Whitney Houston’s body was found on the living room floor by police (suggesting that whoever tried to save her brought her there from the bathroom). Prescription medication bottles were also in the hotel room.
This is definitely a tragedy that could have been prevented and people will be talking about it for years to come. It is clear that Whitney was suffering with addiction up until the moment she died and it is absolutely tragic. People can point fingers at whoever they want, but at the end of the day, Whitney was responsible for her own actions.
Whitney Houston’s cause of death turned out to be what many people expected, despite her family’s claims that she was clean.
