Who is the Missouri Powerball Winner? Name, Identity News Conference Planned: Arizona Jackpot Winner Still Unknown
Are you wondering who the Missouri Powerball winner is? You’re not alone! Shortly after the November 28 Powerball winning numbers were drawn, it was discovered there were two Powerball jackpot winners—one from Missouri and one from Arizona. The record-breaking Powerball jackpot topped out at $587,500,000 annuity, or $384,000,000 in cash. Too bad the jackpot has to be split by both the Missouri lottery winner and the Arizona Powerball winner!
The Missouri lottery winner certainly didn’t waste any time getting in touch with lottery officials to inform them of their half of the jackpot—less than 24 hours in fact! CNN.com said Missouri lottery officials will announce their jackpot winner or winners at a news conference Friday morning. The conference has been planned at North Platte R-1 High School in Dearborn for Friday at 11 a.m.
So, who are the Missouri lottery winners? Rumor has it the Missouri Powerball winners have been identified as Mark and Cindy Hill of Dearborn. This is, however, still unconfirmed until the news conference is held and a formal announcement made, but Missouri Lottery chief operations officer Gary Gonder said late Thursday afternoon that a ticket had been submitted several hours earlier, reported KSHB 41 Action News. According to KMBC.com, the Powerball winner’s mother said in an interview, “Well it’s just a shock. My daughter-in-law came down this morning and she said she was so nervous, she said she didn’t even look at it last night, I don’t think and she looked at it this morning and she said, ‘I think I won that lottery,’ and I said, ‘You’re kidding.’ I thought she meant a scratch ticket or something and we looked at it and we said, ‘Oh my gosh!'”
The Missouri Powerball winner’s mother said he purchased $10 worth of tickets and didn’t check them until Thursday morning. The Missouri Powerball winning ticket was sold at the Trex Mart convenience store in Dearborn, MO, a small town with a population of 496, just north of Kansas City.
The November 28 Powerball winning numbers were 5, 16, 22, 23, 29, and the red Powerball number was 6. Who is the Arizona Powerball winner? That’s still a mystery, but Arizona Lottery officials know that the winning Powerball ticket was sold at the Four Sons Food Store in Fountain Hills, AZ.
