It’s been revealed that Sarai Sierra was not raped, nor was she robbed. This creates even more confusion in the brutal death of the 33-year-old New York mother. With 11 people in custody connected to her death, it’s hard to imagine just why such a thing happened. It’s been long speculated that human trafficking might have played a role in her disappearance, but knowing that she was not sexually assaulted eliminates that theory. What’s more: She was not robbed, so money and theft didn’t play a role in her death either.
So why was Sarai Sierra killed? Her cause of death was by the brutal blows she had sustained to her head, and she was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen several times. However, her body showed no signs of sex assault and her rings and other valuables were still on her person. The brutality of the killing indicates intense, raw, seething rage—but what fueled it, and why were so many people potentially involved?
Could this be a case of a hate crime against an American tourist? There doesn’t appear to be any reasonable motive here, not that there is ever a reasonable motive to brutalize an innocent woman.
