Will Breaking Dawn Part 2 soon earn another prestigious accolade in Brazil? It already set records there during its opening weekend and now could wind up the top-selling movie of the year.
According to a report from Alt Film Guide, after a look at the film’s success worldwide, it seems no country (besides the United States) has embraced the last film in The Twilight Saga quite the way Brazil has.
By the end of Breaking Dawn’s opening weekend, it was already the seventh highest grossing film of the year. It now has just two films to surpass in box office sales to become Brazil’s number one film for 2012.
So which films presently stand in the way of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan fighting the Volturi vampires? Ice Age: Continental Drift and The Avengers presently hold the number one and two spots, respectively, and the Twilight film is fast climbing up to meet or surpass them.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are incredibly popular in Brazil and this, of course, is helping box office numbers immensely. Do you expect by the end of 2012—just one month from now—that Breaking Dawn Part 2 will have earned the number one spot at Brazilian box offices?
