Will Gas Prices Reach $5.00 a Gallon? The Polls Say Possibly

Americans believe gas prices may reach $5.00 a gallon, says a Rasmussen Poll whose results were published today. The nationally-trusted polling authority conducted a telephone survey among 1,000 likely American voters concluded that more than half believe the prices of gas will continue to increase.

In fact, the Rasmussen poll indicated that 58 percent of potential voters feel that it is very possible that fuel will reach prices as high as $5.00 a gallon and more. Only 7 percent of the potential voters believe that fuel prices won’t rise that high.

On another note, a staggering 76 percent of potential American voters believe that the United States isn’t doing enough to investigate and create private fuel resources. If Rasmussen Polls are truly indicative of what the American people want, then this could be indicative of a mass awareness of US dependency on foreign oil.

Currently gas is hovering at a national average of approximately $3.427, varying from state to state and region to region. Comparable to previous years, the gas prices have spiked and weaned continuously. What makes this year any different?
