Wolf Blitzer has already stirred politics into the horrific Boston Marathon explosions that have claimed lives and have resulted in numerous serious injuries. He speculates if Participants of Patriots Day are to blame.
Without evidence, such speculation is completely irresponsible. What if Blitzer speculated that the Occupy Movement was to blame? Despite the fact that groups like the Tea Party have never once been charged with violence; it does not stop irresponsible government officials and constant speculation from pundits that such groups have a capacity for “potential violence”.
Despite the fact that the Washington Post reported that Blitzer “keeps urging caution about jumping to conclusions about the cause of the explosions,” he did exactly that by speculating whether “Patriots Day” had “anything…to do” with the explosions.
Wolf Blitzer stated:
- “It is a state holiday, in addition to the Boston Marathon. It is a state holiday in Massachusetts today called Patriots Day, and who knows if that has anything at all to deal — to do with these, these twin explosions.”
This endless speculation against the right and their potential for violence is nothing new. Speculation took place that the Tea Party and Sarah Palin was somehow responsible for the Jared Loughner massacre in Arizona and ABC News’ Brian Ross reported that James Holmes, the Aurora Colorado movie theater shooter, may be affiliated to the Tea Party. Of course, neither was the case. Blitzer should be ashamed of himself and his irresponsible rhetoric should be denounced by journalists.
