Woman Fakes Cancer for Alibi in Teen Sex Case

According to police, 35-year-old Jennifer Dempsey said that she was too ill from chemotherapy to be guilty of having sex with underaged boys. It may sound like a good alibi, but there’s just one problem: the story Dempsey reportedly told cops about having cancer was not true.

The Arizona woman allegedly “posed as a 16-year-old girl on Facebook to lure two boys — aged 14 and 16 — into sex acts”, reports the Huffington Post.

When the parents of one of the alleged victims met Dempsey, who was introduced as his girlfriend, they suspected that she was not as young as she claimed and went to police, who reportedly found “multiple cell phones in Dempsey’s home containing incriminating text messages sent to the victims”.

Dempsey was subsequently “taken into custody on charges of sexual conduct with a minor”.

One dosen’t often hear about an accused child predator meeting the parents of a victim. If Dempsey, who was over 30 at the time, was trying to pass herself off as a teenager it could easily be labeled a dumb criminal moment.

While under investigation Dempsey tried to use an elaborate cancer ruse that she had allegedly been perpetuating for the past five years, to convince authorities of her innocence. Family and friends believed that Dempsey was genuinely ill. She reportedly went as far as to tape a chemotherapy port to her chest and even shaved her head.

Dempsey is also said to have told the parents of the two victims that she was pregnant, according to Fox 10.

There are so many disturbing things about this story, it’s hard to know where to start. If it’s true that Dempsey tricked these underaged boys into having sex, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that she would lie about being seriously ill to try to get off the hook. But it is disgusting, just the same.
