Carmen Brown doesn’t ride rollercoasters. On Friday, she and her son were at Six Flags Over Texas when a tragedy happened. Brown’s son got on the Texas Giant rollercoaster next to an unnamed woman and she watched as the ride creeped up the top of the incline.

What happened next horrified and onlookers. Brown said as the ride began its free-fall down a 95 degree bank, she watched as the seat next to her son released and the woman tumbled out, falling to her death. The ride is world renown for having one of the most exhilarating and long drops, and people wait in line for hours just for a few minutes of fun. Unfortunately for the victim, she won’t have the opportunity to enjoy any more rides.

Officials with Six Flags have not corroborated Brown’s story, but other witnesses have said that they, too, saw the woman fall. After the accident, the ride was closed and paramedics were directed to the area where the victim’s body lay.

The park thus far has only released an official statement expressing their condolences to the victim’s family. An autopsy report may determine if the woman died while still on the ride, or if she did, indeed, fall to her death.
