WWE Night of Champions 2012 Results: Sheamus Gets New Hell in a Cell Opponent

With last night’s WWE Night of Champions 2012 results, once again “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus was victorious as he defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio. Heading into the match, Sheamus’ Brogue Kick had been banned by Smackdown General Manager Booker T. However, right before the match started, the move was reinstated, which ultimately helped Sheamus get the big victory. So is this feud finally over?

It appears so, as a new Bleacher Report article sheds light on Sheamus’ next opponent for the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View in October. While there’s good news for those who have grown sick of seeing Del Rio trying to win the World Championship and failing, over and over, there’s bad news in terms of the next opponent who will be featured.

BR reports in their article:

“The Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio program, at least for TV, ended with that Brogue kick for now. The plan was for Big Show to return to start a program with Sheamus tonight, which at least today is scheduled to be lead to a Hell in a Cell match on 10/28.”

Big Show probably doesn’t generate a ton of excitement regarding Sheamus and defending the World Heavyweight Championship on a Pay-Per-View. Show continues to get used as the guy who feuds with champions for a while, only to fail in capturing the big title. The last time he won one, it was only briefly, as soon after he got pinned by Money in the Bank winner, Daniel Bryan, to switch the title over.

With that in mind, it seems to make sense Show’s KO punch could end up leaving Sheamus susceptible to a cash-in from Dolph Ziggler. Most especially if Show and Sheamus are facing off inside the brutal Hell in a Cell match, it means Sheamus is stuck inside the cell, where Ziggler can attack after he’s been beat down. Otherwise, it’s hard to expect Big Show to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from Sheamus, unless they pull the exact same move again and make it so he’s knocked out for the Money in the Bank winner to pin him. That would be way too predictable and boring, so fans are hoping for something much more interesting out of this, if possible.
