‘You’ll see me in the news’–Man shares photo of murdered wife on Facebook

The latest out of Florida isn’t that surprising, but it’s gruesome nonetheless. Derek Medina shot his wife Jennifer Alfonso dead in their home before photographing the bloodied, dead woman and then posting it on Facebook. Along with the horrific crime scene photo he posted the following message:

“I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife. Love you guys. Miss you guys. Take care. Facebook people you’ll see me in the news.”

Ironically, this is the same man who has a series of self-published books–all titled as though he is some sort of broke relationship guru. On a serious note, his writings truly reveal a possibility of mental illness, such as this stellar title: “World Just Ask Yourself Why We Are Living a Life Full of Lies and How I an Emotional Writer Made All of My Professional Dreams Come True Blocking Society’s Teachings”–Yeah. That’s actually a title to one of his books.

He was certainly right that he’d be seen on the news, but will he really get the star treatment that murderers are given in Florida? It seems that he was using the same defense that George Zimmerman used against Trayvon Martin when he was gunned down. And you already know how Florida juries treat shooters of unarmed people.
